Anambra State has produced many notable individuals who have made significant contributions to Nigeria and the world at large. From writers and artists to business leaders and politicians, Anambra State is known for its many "firsts."

One of the most notable firsts from Anambra State is the first and only black Governor General of pre-independence Nigeria; The Right Honorable Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, GCFR, PC. 
Other notable figures from Anambra State include Chinua Achebe, the renowned author of Things Fall Apart; 
Cardinal Francis Arinze, a former Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments; 
and Sir Louis Phillip Odumegwu Ojukwu, OBE; the first Nigerian Millionaire.

Anambra State is also known for its many achievements in various fields. 
It is home to the famous Onitsha Market, one of the largest markets in West Africa, and a thriving film industry, known as "Nollywood," and is home to some of the biggest movie stars in Africa.

In addition to its many achievements, Anambra State is also known for its beautiful scenery and tourist attractions. 
The state is home to the Ogbunike Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Agulu Lake, a natural wonder that attracts visitors from all over the world.
